The Decorators Edge is Mark — a painter and decorator based in Alderley Edge, working across Wilmslow and the wider Cheshire villages. It's deliberately not a firm of subcontracted painters. Every job, from a single room to a full exterior, is Mark's own work: the person who quotes it is the person who prepares, paints and finishes it.
That's the whole point of the name. The “edge” is the crisp line where wall meets ceiling, where woodwork meets wall — the detail a decorator either gets right or doesn't. Interior redecoration, exterior joinery, period windows, commercial spaces including a local dental practice: the approach is the same throughout — clear communication, detailed advice on the products going on, and complete respect shown for the home or business it's done in.
What clients mention most isn't the paint — it's the manner. Professional, courteous and incredibly meticulous. Excellent preparation so there's no mess, and a room left spotless at the end. “A real craftsman and a gentleman to boot,” as one review puts it. It's why the diary sits around ten months ahead, and why so much of the work comes from friends of previous clients. Mark is CRB checked and fully covered by public liability insurance.
